About Us
Donald D. Kittle is the founder and C.E.O. of Oakwood Transmission. He has been in the transmission business since 1976. He started working on cars when he was 16 at his father's transmission repair shop in Joliet, Illinois. Donald has learned several aspects of automobile repair from diagnosing problems to repairing the problems. It has helped Donald throughout his career to know how to detect a problem and and repair an automobile beyond the transmission. Donald remainded as his father's apprentice for the next two years. After that time he became a transmission rebuilder and worked as such until April 1st 1992 when he opened the doors to Oakwood Transmission in Flowery Branch, GA. For the last 16 years Donald has strived to run an honest and knowledgable transmission shop in which anyone from family, friend, or customer can bring their vehicle and place it in his possesion with an easy feeling. He hopes that everyone of his customers feels as though they get the best quality work from his 33 years experience in the automotive industry.
